Trading

My specialization is trading futures on financial markets, including index futures, commodity and metal futures, currency futures, crypto futures, and stock futures, as well as other derivatives. Futures are one of the best financial instruments for speculation because they allow the use of leverage, significantly increasing potential profits on invested capital. However, futures trading is also the riskiest type of trading, which is why so few traders succeed in this field.

I use rather aggressive trading strategies that enable me to significantly outperform overall market growth. Unlike conservative trading, aggressive strategies require deep knowledge of risk management, strong psychological resilience, and a high level of self-discipline to stick to the strategy and make the right decisions. Regarding the holding period of positions, my trading strategies are primarily focused on intraday trades as well as trades lasting a few days, usually no more than five. Intraday trading allows for full risk control, which is its main advantage. However, to capture strong market movements, it is sometimes necessary to hold a position for several days. In such cases, I extend my holding period beyond intraday trading. Additionally, holding positions for a longer duration allows me to build a larger position if an instrument lacks liquidity.

Besides futures, I am also proficient in trading other instruments, such as stocks and currencies. However, I still believe that futures are the best instruments for trading. As for automated trading systems (trading algorithms), I use them when working with the prop trading firm SILVER HOOF, where we develop and deploy trading algorithms across various markets.

You may also be curious about my opinion on cryptocurrency markets and crypto futures. I believe that cryptocurrencies are excellent for speculation but not for long-term investments. I trade crypto futures speculatively and see great potential in both this market and the entire crypto industry. However, I do not recommend long-term investments in cryptocurrencies due to their high volatility, making them more suitable for short-term speculation.

Investments

There are many different investment opportunities, such as buying stocks on the exchange or participating in IPOs, investing in bonds or mutual funds, purchasing real estate and participating in development projects, creating your own business, investing in private companies and startups, acquiring art, jewelry, or crypto assets, and much more. Among all these options, I primarily prefer investing in the creation and development of my own businesses in various sectors of the economy, as well as buying shares of strong companies with a long-term holding strategy.

When it comes to my investments in the real economy, I prefer to allocate capital to my own business projects. This means creating small companies that should grow and generate profit over time. These businesses could be based on my own ideas that I want to test, or they could be existing startups with a product and a team that require funding. My investment strategy involves relatively small capital allocations into my own businesses and external startups, typically ranging from $50,000 to $5 millions per project. It is easy to see that this is one of the most aggressive and high-risk investment strategies, but it also has the potential to deliver the highest returns on capital.

Additionally, I invest in shares of large publicly traded companies with a long-term perspective. Depending on the stock and the expected price movement, this can range from a moderate strategy aimed at outperforming the S&P 500 index over time to a more aggressive approach focused on stocks with high growth potential. In the latter case, when I expect a strong, sustained upward trend, holding a position for the long term can be more effective than actively trading short-term price fluctuations.

Investing in real estate is one of the best ways to preserve capital and, in some cases, significantly increase it. In strong market years, real estate values can grow by dozens of percentage points annually. If purchased using leveraged financing, the effect of leverage can multiply returns even further. For me, real estate is a separate line of business that I have been involved in for almost 20 years. I started as a commercial real estate broker while combining this activity with trading. Today, my real estate and development company operates in dozens of countries across both developed and emerging markets.

I see cryptocurrencies as an excellent speculative instrument but not a long-term investment due to their high volatility and several other factors. In my opinion, crypto is great for trading but not for holding as a long-term investment.

Investing in art can be highly profitable — if you truly understand the market.
